What We Offer
Every project starts with a free visit to your property.
Gravel-and-pipe drains that collect water underground and carry it away.
Grading, swales, and catch basins that fix standing water and soggy lawns.
Buried downspout lines that move roof water away from your foundation.
Much of coastal Sussex County and the Maryland shore sits on sandy soil over a shallow water table. In wet months there’s less room for water to soak in, and in low-lying towns heavy rain has nowhere to go. Add a patio sloped the wrong way or downspouts that dump next to the foundation, and you get standing water, soggy lawns, and wet crawl spaces.
Owner Keith Freeman spent more than 20 years in excavation and grading, which is the core of good drainage work. We look at where water comes from, where it can go, and how deep the water table is before recommending a fix. Then we build it: French drains, regrading, swales, catch basins, or buried downspout lines.
We also keep your neighbors in mind. Many HOAs, including Ocean Pines and Plantation Lakes, hold homeowners responsible if new work sends water onto the next lot, so we plan drainage that works with your community’s system, not against it.
FAQ
Usually because of grading, soil, or both. If the ground slopes toward the house, or a patio wasn't pitched to drain, water collects. Near the coast the water table can be very shallow, so water has fewer places to soak in during wet months.
Often, but it has to be designed for your site. A French drain needs somewhere to send water and enough distance above the water table to work. We look at your grading, soil, and water table before recommending one.
In many cases, yes. Channel drains, French drains along the edge, or regrading nearby can help. If the patio itself was built with the wrong slope, we'll explain your options honestly.
